ADULT CONTENT ALERT
This journal contains explicit references and descriptions of sex, violence, drugs, and lots of other things that George W Bush faps about secretly and shamefully. See? Very obscene, this journal. So, readers should be mature about such things, and understand that all content is fictional. Thank you.
I've had four other livejournals starting in Summer 2001. This is a journal for the purposes of art experimentation. I've recently absorbed some interesting avant-garde theory, and I want to put it in action here. This is literally a medium that I am choosing, in art terminology.
If that is interesting to you, then definitely friend me. I have a regular journal elsewhere, so I will only use this one for the purposes of my art. If your journal is relevent to that, I might friend it here. Otherwise, please don't take offence. I might read you from my regular journal, see?
Influences: Thompson, Burroughs, Illuminatus!, Kafka, and my fellows at Logical Unsanity. Antonin Artaud, Hideaki Anno, Terry Gilliam, Peter Watkins, Richard Linklater, Phillip K Dick, Ken Kesey, Bauhaus, Harvey Pekar, Xenogears, insomnia, dreams, South Park, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Family Guy, the internet, drugs. Eris (known as Aerith to uninformed american rpg gamers).
More information in the future. All is in Devlopment. Everything is Art.
I'm very glad to be doing this.
This journal was actually created about 3am, april 11th, 2008. But I'll be adding older material most of which is unpublished elsewhere.
The Big Hint: The main character of this journal is the one who writes all of the content, including all info page content, and comments. This character is defined by the moment of the writing. That is all you can know.
ALL CONTENT IS A SEGMENT OF A PIECE OF A SINGLE WORLD OF ART.
F.A.Q.
Q) What's up with your name?
A) It's the first thing I thought of.
Q) How would you define your art?
A)I wouldn't. That's the douchebag Beck sort of answer. My actual answer is that my art is experimental, and I do what I want when I want to. I give myself over to whimsy; an attempt to reach some kind of psychotic muse. My art is only restrained by the tools I have available to me, and my capacity to conceive of possibilities to put those tools to. I have no desire to restrict myself, not for any length of time anyway. Grok it? Grokked it.
Q) How is your art journal different from other art journals?
A)Art journals I have seen are usually Journals in which the user posts their art. Pictures frames with art in a box. Bits of text paragraphs, art in a box. Instead, I'm trying to make the journal itself one piece of art. Just as books have chapters, pieces of music have movements, so does this journal have posts; chapters and movements after a fashion.
Q) What the hell is up with your stories? What the fuck is going on? Are these real? etc etc. things in that vein.
A)If you were to read a book of Zen Buddhism, it would tell you that real and unreal are the same thing. I'm not a Zen Buddhist, though. My art represents an evolving perception, an evolving cognation of art. How real or true can anything we create or say be? Conversely, how fictional can it be? It depends on what you think is reality. It depends on how you define truth.
Q)What the hell is up with your voice posts? I don't understand. They're just indecipherable noise half the time!
A) They sure is. Well, they are not actually "voice posts" per se. I use my cell phone to capture sounds that I think may be potentially be interesting; particularly with the bit reduction, volume selective filtering, and overdriving that occurs naturally with my cell phone on loud speaker and LJ Voice Post recording it at such a low bitrate. I think they are neat; though I don't consider them necessarily finished and whole pieces, but have vague designs on sampling and altering them for future audio production.
As they exist currently on this livejournal, my intent is not for them to be understood, however. Only to be experienced. You may opt to tell me about your unique experience of hearing them, that would be most welcome. If someone concludes that they do understand them, then that's fine as well of course.
Q) How much of this is autobiographical?
A)Would you like a percentage? Then I would say 23% of it is autobiographical. Or, perhaps 17%. At least 5%. Certainly.
Q) Okay. So, how do you define truth?
A) That's a bitchin' question, and I'm glad I asked myself it. I'll get back to you on that one.
Q) what's up with the 23, 17, 5 business?
A) Check wikipedia. That's what I do when I have a question.
